You are told the cost first
Prices are given before treatment rather than after. Payment at the end of the visit, cash or card, with an itemised receipt and an English medical report.
Bloods come back the same day
Dengue testing, full counts, kidney and liver function, taken at the branch or at your accommodation and reported the same day rather than the following week.
Or the doctor comes to you
For anyone too unwell to travel — a vomiting child, a fever nobody has slept through — a doctor attends your hotel, villa or condominium instead, in around an hour, depending on where you are.
Transfers are arranged, not suggested
Where a hospital is needed we stabilise you first, call the receiving department ahead, and arrange the ambulance rather than leaving you to find one.
